On Wednesday March 14, 2012 at 2223 hours Station 16 (Elsmere), Station 17 (Five Points) and Station 14 (Cranston Heights) were dispatched to 45 Elsmere Blvd for a multi-residential fire. Assistant Chief Rodriguez (16-8C) was the first to arrive on scene, and found fire showing from the rear of the building. Engine 14-3 was the first to arrive in the area and took a hydrant. Serious Accident with Patient Airlifted

On Tuesday March 13, 2012 at 1639 hours Station 16(Elsmere), Station 14(Cranston Heights), Trooper 4 (Helicopter), and NCC EMS were alerted to an accident on Route 141 NB at Lancaster Pike. At least 1 subject was reported to be trapped inside a vehicle. Personnel from Rescue 16, Rescue 14 and Engine 16-5 worked to free the trapped victims while EMTs from B-16, A-17, C-25, and NCC EMS treated the patients. One victim was extricated from a vehicle and transported by Delaware State Police Helicopter to the Hospital. Another victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Pickup truck severs pole on Route 141

On Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 1314 hours Station 16 (Elsmere) Station 14 (Cranston Heights), Station 25 (Talleyville) and NCC EMS were dispatched to Route 141 NB in the area of Barley Mill Plaza. ALS 21 arrived on scene and confirmed no entrapment, and verified there was an electric pole damaged. Engine 16-5, Rescue 14, and B-25 arrived on scene. Crews from 16-5 and Rescue 14 assisted with patient care and scene safety. One patient was transported to the hospital. Delmarva Power was notified and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police.

Apartment Fire with Subjects Trapped

On Friday night February 24,2012 at 21:22 hours the Elsmere Fire Company (Station 16 ) an Engine company from Five Points ( Station 17) and Engine and Rescue Company From Cranston Heights ( Station 14 ) were dispatched to the Silver Springs Apartments at 33 Elsmere Blvd for a apartment on fire. At 21:25 16-5 went responding with Engine Captain Mark Facciolo as the I.C. While enroute N.C.C.F.B. notified 16-5 that there were subjects trapped. Dumpster Fire at Dupont

On January 25, 2012 at 11:07 hours Station 16 was dispatched to a building fire at Dupont Chesnut Run. Upon arrival Engine 16-5 observed a large construction style dumpster on fire. Personel from Dupont’s Emergency Response Team was on scene and working to extinguish the fire. Crews from Engines 16-5, 14-3, and 17-5 worked under command of Ladder Captain Mike Edwards. The situation was placed under control at 11:33 AM.
